All land in Quintana Roo is owned by either a person, family or a community of families (so called Ejidos). In preparation of a cave dive we have to make sure that we have the permit of the owner to be on his/her land and that often means also paying an entrance fee. We know where to go to pay and who to ask for the keys.
As entrance fees vary from cave system to cave system and change without notice from the owners, we cannot include the entrance in our normal calculations for a guided cave dive. However, the courses include entrance fees where applicable.
As an indication you can calculate with 10-15 USD per day in for entrances with the most expensive at the moment at 30 USD.
