On this dive, the guide needs to deploy a temporary guideline throughout the dive. That means that the attention of the guide is more on the line work and can’t be focused on group control. I generally take divers that have good buoyancy control and an advanced awareness as besides not touching the formations they also need to be aware of the line work and the group in general. Another good cenote, where I further can explain some rules of cavern and cave diving.
Carwash is located close to Tulum and don’t be disappointed to arrive in summer and see a little murky surface. This is the true beauty of Carwash as only the surface water does not circulate, heats up in summer and lets the algae bloom. At a depth of 2 m you have the usual endless visibility. Rain changes the colours and you can have crazy yellow and at other times red water. Many tree trunks in the entrance water and a carpet of algea adds to the special touch of this cenote. No halocline.
