As the first in a series of overhead courses, the Cavern Course takes a serious look at the skills needed to conduct safe and enjoyable cavern dives. Although the cavern course is conducted in the light zone you will still be in an overhead environment. We will cover topics and skills such as
- Equipment configuration and preparation
- Body posture and trim
- Propulsion techniques
- Cavern conservation
- Proper guideline procedures etc.
Prerequisite: OWD and min. 25 dives, 18 years
Duration: 2 days in recreational equipment
3 days in technical gear configuration, min. 4 dives
Maximum capacity: 3 students
This course can be taught in TDI and in PADI.
We recommend to get certification in TDI if student plans to continue into technical diving and overhead diving at a later time. The PADI course is still strictly meant to be a recreational course and no preparation for technical diving, even if we cover the same basics. PADI is planning to get the overhead diving courses standardised, but we have no influence on when this will happen.
Includes: Transportation from dive center to cenote, entrance to cenote, theory and skill practice, dive briefing and dive site orientation, 4 dives, personal equipment of instructor
Student needs to bring his own diving equipment. Rental of technical equipment is available and prices upon request.
