How to best combine Courses to packages

For many holiday seekers is Mexico a long-distance travel destination and due to the longer journey from Europe, I recommend a stay at least 10 days. The duration of the courses is between 1 and 5 days, not including evaluation days, fun diving days and of course further training days, if necessary. I usually teach the theory alongside, so there are no just theory days. You should always allow for a buffer day and maybe a day to just let your soul dangle. Furthermore, I recommend to implement what you have just learned in 1 or 2 more diving days after the course. If you’re a new Nitrox diver or you’ve had your Emergency Oxygen Administration course for some time, then you don’t even need another day of diving as both courses only have practical applications that can be easily integrated into your daily routine.

With greater flexibility with your time, many of the courses can be combined and it is more a question of personal self-assessment in terms of previous knowledge and diving skills. Because each course builds on the previous one and requires an increasingly greater mastery of the skills. It is certainly counterproductive to put yourself under pressure and want to achieve a goal that is too high in too short a time. As with many things in life, when it comes to diving, no one is born as master. Some courses when combined require fewer dives than the total according to TDI standards, and this is especially true for the Advanced Nitrox course and Decompression Procedures course. Since the student at Diving Caves pays per course day, the total price may ideally reduced. Of course, Diving Caves calculates only 1 evaluation day before the start of the first course and therefore the number of necessary diving days is reduced.

What is an evaluation day for?

Before the start of a course, an diving day or evaluation day is scheduled. This is for getting back into the water, proper weighting, gear modifications, and necessary additions. This is especially important if it has been some time since your last dive. In addition, for all divers who dive with me or are here for the first time, the flood of information for our special diving procedures is often overwhelming. And of course it also helps me if I can see you in the water when you are relaxed and comfortable so I can better assess your skills and also your comfort before we start the training. And finally you can get a taste of me and get to know me.

What defines a fun or experience dive?

Whether after or during a course, a dive without learning new components, but simply applying what you have learned helps immensely for your muscle memory. And fun and variety are guaranteed anyway. Your diving instructor during the course will normally also be your guide for the further dives. By the way: Each day of the course results in a package price basis for the other guided dives during your vacation.

These general discussions are just a guide, better advice is best obtained by emailing Diving Caves directly.
